MNB Wrestling Report User Submission Guidelines – last updated 3.11.2012
-1) Be Respectful. Don’t bother sending us something about how all people who like “x” wrestler are idiots, or anything else that is rude or mean-spirited. We wont even finish reading them before we reject them outright.
-2) Be Professional. Make sure your article is well structured and watch your grammar and spelling. If we feel like we would have to spell check your article, then we will send it back for revision. Write it as if it were getting published in a real magazine or newspaper.
-3) Be mindful of your audience. The MNB Wrestling Report exists for wrestling fans of all ages, races, religions, and creeds. Anything with hateful overtones or bigotry will be rejected outright.
-4) Feel free to plug your own site or social networks, but if you do, please have the decency to also plug us as well. The more we can grow this community, the more people are going to see what you write, and the best way to do that is to talk it up!
-5) If you write an article for us and it gets approved, please only post it with us. The ultimate goal of this project is to make The MNB Wrestling Report a destination site for wrestling fans to share ideas and have respectful conversations about the sport that we love. As said above, feel free to plug your own website at the end of your post, but please don’t repost your article in both places.
-6) Be relevant. Historical topics are great, and will be published, but try to tie them in to things that are going on today. For example, if HBK is going to be making a special appearance on Raw, that would be a great time to write an article on the legacy of his career.
-7) Be patient. Especially in the early days of the process you may not see a lot of comments on your articles. Don’t get discouraged! Talk up the site and as the community grows you will see your own comment count go up!
-8) Understand that I make no money off of The MNB Wrestling Report. There are no ads, no pop-ups, no flash screens, and I intend to keep it that way. They are my biggest pet peeve at most other wrestling sites, and I don’t want any of that here. That also, unfortunately, means that I am not able to compensate you for your work in any way other than to let you use the site to get your name out there and help you promote it.
-9) After you get published on the site, promote your article! The official Twitter hashtag for The MNB Wrestling Report is #MNBWrestling, link your article, use the hashtag, and talk up the site! This is going to benefit both of us, so talk it up as much as you can!
You can email your submissions here. I look forward to seeing your writing!
