Welcome back to Monday Night Raw! Sorry for missing the review last night, but I was busy learning the tools for my new LIVE radio show I am doing every Sunday at 8AM CST! If you want to tune into the show, you can find it here starting with the episode that I did just this Sunday. Going back to tonights Raw, this show started out great, and was shaping up to be a really good show, until it ran off a cliff at the end. Let’s get this going, and over with.
We started out with a debate segment, and I have to admit I enjoyed it more than I hated it. Truth made me laugh fairly hard with his promo, but to me the big winner was Kofi Kingston, who cut a fairly incredible promo about how he was done being overlooked. I really hope that someone backstage in WWE noticed how well he did there and he gets another real push. Jericho cut a great promo as well, and then when he and Punk were about to get into it, Kofi laid Jericho out with the trouble in paradise. I really just thought Kofi was awesome here, and it lead straight into the first match.
Kofi Kingston vs. Chris Jericho
I thought these two had a great TV match here. Kofi got a lot of agressive offense in early, which I think is something he really needs to help him push to the next level. Jericho got the heat, and caught Kofi off the top turnbuckle and put him in the walls, but Kofi made the ropes. While Jericho was arguing with the ref, Kofi got up and hit Jericho with trouble in paradise but this time Jericho got the ropes. Kofi didn’t want to break on the ropes, and when the ref went to pull him off, Jericho got him with a thumb in the eye and then the codebreaker to get the pin. This was a really fun match, and I thought both guys looked really good. Looking forward to seeing what each of these guys do in the Elimination Chamber.
We had some backstage segments. They weren’t worth talking about
Randy Orton vs The Big Show
These two had about as good of a match as you can expect from any match with The Big Show in it. Daniel Bryan was at ringside, and Cole was sucking up to him the whole time. The first attempt to RKO Show got botched, and Cole acted as if Orton had still hit it. Then Orton hit the RKO for real, but before he could cover, Bryan laid him out with the title. Then he laid out show, and celebrated with the title in the middle of the ring. Bryan was still fairly awesome here. I was disapointed that they didn’t put Bryan on commentary though, he is so much fun on the mic.
HBK and HHH in the ring
There is nothing I can say here after this. I will share my thoughts on MNB Wrestling Radio Live on Sunday AM. I’ll just say it was awesome and leave it at that.
R-Truth and Ziggler have a short match
This match didn’t get much time, but it was a decent match. Ziggler was showing off and doing his sit-ups and Truth rolled him up for the quick pin. It wasn’t bad, but wasn’t long enough to be good either. Still I like both guys so here is hoping they get the chance to shine in the chamber
Cena/Kane/Zach/Eve = stupidity
I really don’t want to talk about this segment. I almost feel like I don’t have a choice. This was bad, in EVERY way. And then they have to take it to the even stupider level of having Eve kiss Cena, and tell Ryder that she never saw them as a couple, and just wanted them to be friends. Good god, please make this stuff end. PLEASE make it end. The worse news? Cena and Kane are booked in matches for shows after Wrestlemania. I want to cry.
Punk vs Miz
These guys were gonna have to work hard to redeem this show in my eyes, though if I am going to give anyone a high chance to pull it off, Punk is one of the guys. They did their best and had a decent match for the 3 to 4 minutes that they got, Punk made Miz tap clean to the anaconda vice. God I wish the show ended there.
More Cena/Kane/Ryder stupidity
You know what, if the show had ended with the Punk/Miz match I still would have thought it was a decent show in the end. God knows we had some good matches. But these segments with Cena, Kane, Ryder, and Eve were SO BAD they tainted everything else for me. You know, I’m not even going to talk about it anymore. It’s not worth my time. This sucked, and that’s all you need to know. Do yourself a favor, and if you are reading this review before watching the show, just shut off your DVR after Miz taps to Punk and let it end. You’ll be happier that way.

Final Thoughts
This show started out really good. The first hour, hour and a half was overall great, with a small number of bad segments in between. We had some great matches, though a few were too short for my liking, and they did a good job of building the Raw chamber match in my opinion. I took a full two points off of this show because of how bad the Cena /Kane/Ryder stuff was. It was just terrible. I’m going to wrap this up here, that was SO bad I don’t even want to talk about it anymore.
I kinda of like the Kane/Cena/Zack/Eve segments…. it added controversy to the show and it is a great way to build 2 new feud after wrestlemania… Cena can feud with Ryder or Ryder can feud with Kane. This storyline is also making Eve more Important than i use to see her and it is giving Zack Ryder more exposure to main event level. after this this Feud over I can see Zack in tougher battles & not just being a joke. So I see it as a great way to build character
i want big things to happen for kofi, if miz and other guys can get the chance why not kofi. im not the biggest triple h fan but did like the segment with him and shawn alot of real talk went in there.cena, kane, eve and zack just who the hell knows
Great review, I think your best one yet! Love to hear your take on things, I think you have an interesting perspective, very good and well written! I myself liked the Cena/Kane angle tonight and I haven’t been the biggest supporter of it, but I am really enjoying the maturation of the Cena character. I hope Ryder stops his serious act soon though, I prefer goofy fun Ryder. The best of the night was for sure Taker/HHH/HBK IMO, and I’m looking forward to hearing what you have to say about that.
Yet another review that was enjoyable to read. I do wish that Ryder would be given that push he needs. Natalya is being used, (that just isn’t right). She is a good wrestler. Cena Kane thing is getting old to me. Bryan, I just can’t get into him at all, not a fan. Enjoyed seeing HBK in the ring, even though it was just to talk. Win or lose I hope the Undertaker retires this year, I want to remember him as the guy everyone fears.
